Sven B. Modrow

A global health innovator with extensive expertise in leveraging technology and partnerships to address healthcare challenges in the Global South, Sven played a pivotal role in building the healthcare startup Ilara Health in Kenya from the ground up, scaling it to over 100 employees. He introduced key technologies such as telemedicine, improved internal processes, created an online learning platform for healthcare professionals, and established partnerships with major international players like Boehringer Ingelheim.

Before joining Ilara Health, Sven worked with leading international organizations, including Accenture, Eli Lilly, and Capgemini, completing numerous projects at the intersection of innovation, healthcare, and social impact. Currently, as a freelance consultant and entrepreneur, he focuses on applying AI and tech-driven innovations to improve healthcare access and outcomes. From designing strategies for NGOs to enhancing social impact business models, he remains dedicated to fostering sustainable, tech-enabled solutions to address pressing health challenges worldwide.

Sven has participated in the African Healthcare Funders Forum, a four-month leadership program, and has been involved in several healthcare and social impact accelerators, including MIT Solve, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) Innovation Accelerator, and the EIT Health InnoStars program. Additionally, he has served as a guest lecturer at Copenhagen Business School and Strathmore University.
